Questions, answered.
Everything people usually ask before their first build. If yours isn’t here, send it over — it reaches a human, no account needed.
What is GetForge?
A forge for software. You describe the thing you want — a booking page, a small tool, a tiny app — in plain words, and the engine designs it, writes it, and deploys it to a live address in minutes. No code, no servers, no team. When you want it different, you just say so.
How do credits work?
Credits are the fuel. A brand-new build burns credits based on the craft level you pick — roughly 10 for Standard, 30 for Premium, 50 for Ultra. Asking for a change to a live build costs far less than starting over. You get free credits the moment you verify your email — enough for your first builds on us. Live numbers are always shown on the Plans & credits page.
What can I build?
Anything you can put into a sentence: landing pages, booking pages, quote calculators, habit trackers, little shops, tools for your trade. If it’s a website or a small web app, the forge can take it. The only hard line: nothing harmful or illegal — every request passes a safety check before it’s built.
What are the craft levels — Standard, Premium, Ultra?
They’re how much care goes into a build. Standard is fast and clean, right for most things. Premium spends more effort on polish and depth. Ultra goes furthest for the most involved ideas. You pick per build, and the credit cost scales with the level.
How does “ask for a change” work?
Every live build has an Ask for a change button on your dashboard. Tell it what’s different — “make the header darker, add a testimonials section” — and the forge reworks the live build in place. Same address, reshaped product, for a fraction of a new build.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Every build ships on its own address the moment it’s done (yourapp.getforge.studio), and when you’re ready to make it properly yours, open Connect a domain on the build. We give you one CNAME record to add wherever your domain lives, and that’s it. See the step-by-step guide.
Do I own the code?
Yes. Every build has a Save to GitHub button that pushes the full source to a repo in your own GitHub account — yours to keep, read, or host anywhere. No lock-in: the product is yours whether it lives with us or not.
Can I walk away and take my app with me?
Always. Save the source to your own GitHub, point your custom domain wherever you like, and host it anywhere that runs a web app. Nothing about GetForge holds your product hostage — the forge is a head start, not a cage.
How does billing work?
Two ways, both through Stripe (your card never touches our servers, prices in AUD). Subscriptions grant a fresh credit allowance each paid cycle — monthly or yearly, with yearly working out to about two months free. One-time top-up packs never expire and roll over until spent. And verifying your email earns you free credits before you pay a cent.
What about refunds?
Credits pay for real machine time the moment a build runs, so spent credits can’t be un-spent. But if something’s gone wrong — a double charge, a payment glitch, a purchase you haven’t touched — write to us and we’ll look at it properly, case by case. If a build fails or is declined, you’re never charged for it.
Is my app really live?
Really live. The moment the forge finishes, your build is deployed to its own public URL — open it on your phone, text it to a customer, put it on a business card. It stays up, and every change you ask for updates the same address.
What does it cost to keep an app live?
Every build ships live on its own getforge.studio address the moment it’s done. Keeping an app always-on after that is paid in credits: the live figure is on the Plans & credits page. Free accounts aren’t charged for hosting at all; they have a cap on how many apps stay live instead.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. If you can describe what you want in a clear paragraph, you can forge it. The clearer the sentence, the better the build — one focused idea beats ten vague ones.
